Storybank - Utahns Speak Up
The storybank project is part of our continuing effort to highlight the need for quality, comprehensive, affordable health care coverage for all. The stories featured are of real people throughout the state of Utah whose lives are impacted by the health care crisis.
Share Your Health Care Story! UHPP is partnering with the Salt Lake Community Writing Center to help people write and share their health care or insurance stories. If you have a story to tell, contribute your voice to the UHPP Storybank Project by attending one of these three no-cost writing workshops this fall, or drop in for Writing Coaching.
Workshops are from 6 to 8 p.m.
Thursday, September 11
Thursday, October 9
Thursday, November 13
All meetings take place at the Salt Lake Community Writing Center on Library Square (210 E. 400 S.)
RSVP by calling (801) 957-4992 or email cwc@slcc.edu.
Uninsured Stories Living without insurance, being under-insured and the consequences to one's health and/or household.
Medicaid & CHIP Stories Issues: timely access to care, the need for services and
Successes: how these programs helped one get back into or to stay within the workforce.
General Insurance and Quality of Care Stories Rising premiums, in-between coverage, denial;
Culturally or linguistically appropriate care (personal, family, client, or institutional).
We are looking for more stories to help increase public awareness of the current health care crisis. If you have a personal health care story and would like to add it to our Utahns Speak Up Storybank, send an email to stacey@healthpolicyproject.org or call (801) 433-2299.
I
decided to join the Utah Health Policy Project's Board of Trustees because
I believe Utah is ready for fundamental change in how we finance health
care. The UHPP has the expertise, skills, and understanding of the community
to help facilitate lasting solutions to the health care challenge.
